I am in need of a transmission case for 46rh transmission and need to no what year(s) will replace what I have. The broken case is marked PK5218323 1890 4675 on the side and appears to have internals of a '95 -'96. It has a lipped edge reverse drum, large input shaft and 11 tooth oil pump. Will an earlier case work?
Also the OD assembly has only 3 OD frictions and 6 direct frictions. This is what a 42rh has. It appears to upgrade this I could use a thinner pressure plate and add a friction+steel on the OD clutch for a total of 4 frictions.
The only way to get 8 frictions in the direct clutch would be to change or machine the drum. Does anyone know about this?
I am going to replace the OD gear assembly with a 5 or 6 pinion, 15* unit and add a shift kit along with a complete overhaul.
