Hi Everyone-
I am looking for suggestions/help on this issue. The subject is my 2003 GC SE/ 50,000 miles. The ps pump, hoses and reservoir were replaced a week ago, as the old pump was starting to make a loud whiny and rattling noise. After I picked the car up from the dealership I immediately noticed a loud whiny noise, almost like a turbine, up to about 50 mph (but not when idles) above 50 mph it sounds normal. Had the van back in the shop and they actually showed my two other vans that were making similar noises. Now, they keep telling me it is a normal noise and of course as cars get older they tend to make more noise !?!? Looking at this forum the issue is definitely not a single event. I did put in 12 oz. of the Lucas power steering sealer.
No affect at all. If anything I would say it feels like the steering wheel is harder to operate now.
Anyways, should I look at the tensioner pulley and the serpentine belt next? Could it be the rack? This is going on for 3 weeks and it frustrates the ..... out of me. Please help with your input it is greatly appreciated!!! :help:

After a pump and reservoir you shouldn't be getting any noise. This one is a B__ch to bleed. You have to use a vacuum pump at the top of the reservoir to get all the air out. If they didn't do that, it's the air that's making the noise.

Well, it was changed by a 5 star dc dealership and I hope they bleed the system, however you never know. If air, do you think it would force the air out after awhile? Anyone else familiar with this problem?
