I'm looking to, or have someone else, install an after-market stereo (dvd/navigation combo) into my Charger RT and I have been looking at the Pioneer AVIC N3 or the new JVC KD-NX5000. I'd also like to hook-up my IPOD as well.

Crutchfield seems to really support the buyer although I can find the same equipment at much cheaper prices elsewhere.

So, here are my questions....

1. Pro's/Con's with an after-market stereo (dvd/navigation)?
2. Should I use the existing factory amp or add another?
3. Any experiences using Crutchfield over other sources for purchase?
4. How good are the factory speakers?
5. Should I wait for the MyGig head unit once it becomes available but from what I hear they are having a lot of problems with it?

I do have the factory upgraded stereo and its plenty loud but i'd like to add GPS and my IPOD to it. I'm not to keen on buying a portable GPS. Too much clutter.

Thanks.

I have been really happy with Pioneer Head units. I have no use for a GPS but If their GPS is as good as the sound quality it should be pretty good stuff! I never got any thing from Crutchfeild. I agree they want too much compared to else where.
Some electronic stores offer free installation when you purchase a head unit. I always found it more fun to do it myself. With the rigth kits it's easy as plug and play!
As far as the speakers are concerned they might last a while but Id say eventually you will need to replace them. How long depends on how loud you like it. Most Pioneer streo's are potent enough to not need an amp! That includes driveing a subwoofer!!! It wont shake off your rear veiw mirror but it will give you a decent amount of bass if in the right box. Enough to satisfy unless you want ground shakeing bass. I ran a single 10 inch RF Punch off a Pioneer HU for a couple years!! Im not to impressed with Pioneer speakers but the HU's are well worth the cash!
If money wasn't an object I think Id try to find a Rockford Fosgate HU I hear they are quite a machine, I know their speakers are! LOL Good Luck
