I really need help,my 1990 2.5 non turbo wouldnt start one day last week. The following morning it started fine,I made it 6 blocks and it just quit.
It will run only if I feed gas directly in the bowl.Fuel Pump runs fine. What else should I be looking at.My income restricts me from getting a mechanic.

I would check fuel filter, and check any rubber fuel lines on the engine. One could have gotten plug some how.

I gather your car has a carb and mechanical fuel pump:

you fooled me when you mentioned the fuel bowl

your electric fuel pump must provide both adequate volume and pressure to operate the injector properly; if one of the other is low, the car will not run well if at all.

The first step is changing the filter and then making sure any rubber lines are not swollen and partially restricted

You might spend a very few dollars and get a pressure and volume check done on the pump

If it turns out to be a bad pump, you can replace the pump yourself with basic hand tools and a sturdy set of jack stands upon which to sit the van
