Does anyone have a write up on how to change the gasket on the AT solenoid pack. In looking at the unit from the top, it appears that the solenoid pack is held on by three 10 mm bolts, however, there is a radiator hose, exhaust pipe, and a number of other obstructions in the way. Does all of this have to be removed, or is there an easier way?

here it is from the dodge service manual:

REMOVAL
NOTE: If solenoid/pressure switch assembly is being replaced, it is necessary to perform the TCM Quick Learn Procedure. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES/TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE - STANDARD PROCEDURE)

Disconnect battery negative cable.
Remove air cleaner assembly.
Disconnect solenoid/pressure switch assembly connector.
Disconnect input speed sensor connector.
Remove input speed sensor (Input Speed Sensor).
Remove three (3) solenoid/pressure switch assembly-to-transaxle case bolts (Solenoid/Pressure Switch Assembly-to-Case Bolts).
Remove solenoid/pressure switch assembly and gasket (Solenoid/Pressure Switch Assembly and Gasket). Use care to prevent gasket material and foreign objects from become lodged in the transaxle case ports.

INSTALLATION
NOTE: If solenoid/pressure switch assembly is being replaced, it is necessary to perform the TCM Quick Learn Procedure. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES/TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE - STANDARD PROCEDURE)

Install solenoid/pressure switch assembly and new gasket to transaxle (Solenoid/Pressure Switch Assembly and Gasket).
Install and torque three (3) bolts (Solenoid/Pressure Switch Assembly-to-Case Bolts) to 13 N·m (110 in. lbs.).
Install input speed sensor (Input Speed Sensor) and torque to 27 N·m (20 ft. lbs.).
Connect input speed sensor connector.
Install solenoid/pressure switch 8-way connector and torque to 4 N·m (35 in. lbs.).
Install air cleaner assembly.
Connect battery negative cable.

Thanks for the response, but I believe that your instructions are for the gen III vans (96-00), as you reference removing the air cleaner. On the gen IV models the air cleaner is on the passenger side of the engine compartment - there is an exhaust manifold pipe and the upper radiator hose above the solenoid pack. Would you happen to have the FSM service instructions for an 02?

Sorry dude, but thats the info it gives me for an '02, an '04 and an '06, I checked them all to make sure it wasnt a mistake

This information is straight from diamler chrysler (http://dealerconnect.chrysler.com)
and its shows how to remove the transmission solenoid/pressure switch assembly on the 41TE and 40TE Transmissions

But i now realize that I agree with you, the air cleaner assemble is indeed on the passenger side

I just did mine, a 98 which worked like the instructions above so I can't speak to the exhaust pipe and radiator hose removal, but maybe these notes will help:

1> remove the speed sensor to get to the middle 10mm, it has about 1/2" thread and the sensor portion goes in about 3/4 to 1", it uses a 1" socket to remove
2> the 10mm bolts are about 3-4" long (about 1/2" thread)
3> mine had a spacer plate and I was replacing the valve body and the instructions said NOT use the spacer, but there was no way to install new part without it so there were two gaskets, 1 between spacer and a/t, and the one between the spcer and valve body. The dodge part number for the gasket if you use a spacer was 4799844-AB
4> You may have a lot of dirt and muck down in there between the valve body and AT under the speed sensor. You may want to blow it out before you remove the valve body to keep trash from falling in the A/T ports when you pop off the valve body

Ya, the instructions are all the same 3.3L..3.8L....02 and beyond.
the only diff is how much stuff you have to twist around, in your case its not the fun one. you dont remove anything other than the input speed sensor.
Do use some brake clean or whatever to clean it off before you remove the old one as jshane posted..especially the crud that likes to hide between the solonoid assembly and the trans housing
