Can these be replaced without taking the axle out? Thanks Jody

yes

If I recall when I had to remove a broken stud, I:
removed the caliper and rotor
drove the damaged stud out with a hammer
pulled the new one in using a lug nut and some washers as spacers

you will see very clearly how far to rotate the hub to allow clearance for the stud to be pushed out

Yes you can as described in the previous message just make sure that the new one going back in is set into place properly as it is sometimes difficult to get at the stud from behind to hammer it back into place you may have to use some type of spacer on the front between the threads and the hub to suck it into place but if you do it this way make absolutly sure that it is all the way on the hub by checking it from the back side of the hub making sure that there is no gaps between it and the hub. and be very certain to get the correct stud; in fact, I would remove the broken one and a good one to use as a comparison to insured the correct part

they are so easy to get in and out that it makes sense to take a good one out and take it with you to the parts store; saves that second and very infuriating trip
