My 02 neons foglight switch went the other day. My foglight were coming on at random with no human interaction. So i replaced the switch

If anyone's foglights are doing this i would reccomend changing the switch it is relatively cheap($85 canadian at the dealer). on 02's the foglight and the main light's/blinkers are all on that switch so for that price you can't go wrong.

to change it you will need.
10-30 minutes
#20 torix
#10 torix
#1 philips
and a standard flat screwdriver

-to remove the plastic casing around the steering colum there are two philps scerews on the bottom side of it one on the left and one on the right.
-remoce the screws. after that is done you notice that the casing is still stuck together.
-take the flat screwdriver and put it in the split case and twist it this releases the casing and you can carefully remove it .

-once the casing is off you will need the #20 torix there are two grey torix on top of the switch these need to be removed.
-once these are removed you need the #10 torix to remove the screws holding the lightswitch to the wiper switch
-when all the screws are removed you will want to remove the electrical plug
it is located about center of the switch in the back it is a little tricky to remove but if you squeeze the lock close to where the wires enter the plug and pull at the same time it will come off.

-once the switch is out remove the blinker relay from the old switch, it is located on the right side of the switch at the top it is a square relay(don't forget or your girlfriend will flip out when you tell here the foglights are fixed and she takes it down the road and the blinkers don't work).
-place the relay in the new switch and then follow the instructions in reverse to hook it back up.

it took me about 30 minutes the first time cause i got to the flat screw driver part and didn't know what two do i think using a screw driver in the gap like that is stupid but that is the way it comes off. you don't need the flat screw driver to put the casing back together. it took me 5 minutes to remove the casing and put the relay switch in and get it back together after my gf noticed the blinkers weren't working.

if anyone is having trouble with the light switch replace the switch it is cheap and easy to do
