Dude, with all due respect take the high road and live the "Golden Rule." I would assume that you wouldn't want to be played so don't be the player. What comes around - goes around. And besides that, a clear conscience is worth more than making bank when you sell.

When I swapped out my instrument cluster I took a picture of the original cluster and milage then I took a picture of the new cluster and the difference in milage. I keep those photos with the title for the car. When I sell the car the buyer will know what the "real" milage is.

Just a friendly encouragement.

I can't believe someone would actually post this on an open forum. haha

BTW: The computer stores your mileage, so even if you unplug the cluster, your computer still stores your mileage.

Huh, I learned something today, so 1 gen's hold the mileage in the PCM/ECU. Didn't know that. I know for certain 2nd gen's hold milage in the instrument cluster.

its true, even though the odometer in 1st gen neons are mechanical, the PCM also counts the mileage, so you can still swap out the cluster with one with lower mileage but the DRBIII scan tool that every chrysler dealership has can check your mileage in the PCM if anyone suspects the wrong mileage

lol so swap the pcm too ... easy! and when u buy a mopar performance one u can also lie and tell em u have less mileage >.<

It just isnt right! Is it? How much do you actually think it would raise the value? LMAO

yeahh...well, how would you know???

Simple!!!! Do you think that the mileage on a car cannot be guessed by looking the car over. Granted you couldn't guess it on the nose but if some one tried to sell me a car that has 140K on it and the odometer reads 30-50K. Id ask them after looking it over if that is the right miles on it. Just to give them a chance to fess up. Then If I am 100% sure that they are not being truthfull with me I would not so kindly tell them to shove their POS right up their rotten @&&!!!! Without a doubt!! Trust me anyone who knows anything about cars can tell. And No Im not going to tell you how!! LMAO

Not to mention it can mean jail time! Isn't it a Federal Offense???

yes its a federal offense, which something like that could possibly take 4 or 5 years away from you. and they dont serve 1st class food, more like garbage blended up and and thrown on a plate with a piece of bread lmao
