Fuel Sending Unit

I have a 1974 Powerwagon with the gas tank behind the seat. The contacts fell off the stupid sending unit and now the gas guage doesn't work

I called the local parts places and the Dodge dealership, the stupid thing isn't available. The local wrecking yard has what I need, but they wont sell just the sending unit. I have to buy the whole tank, and there's no guarantee the unit is any good. He said that there was a no return pilocy on gas tanks unless they leak

So here's my question. Anyone know where to find a sending unit? Or does anyone know of a place that rebuilds them? Anyone know anything?

find a "pick a part" salvage yard....tell em the gas tank was shot, or toss the unit over the fence....(I know, I know, bad, bad, bad)...but hey..what are you going to do? You might also try some of the after market places, perhaps JCWhitney or some of those places might have a unit that will work right. Just make sure you get one that runs the correct amperage for your dodge
