Well, this is my first car and I am anxious to start adding things on to it to make me feel a little more at home, so to speak. I like the stock speakers that are in there, so I dont really want to touch those. If anything, I will just throw on some bass blockers. As far as the CD player goes, I am going to replace the stock with a Pioneer headunit(50x4) with a few amp outputs for future ideas. Has anyone ever replaced a unit on a 2003 sxt? If so, any trouble that you know I am going to run into, I'd appreciate a heads up. I am also looking to replace the rims. Anyone know what the biggest size rims I can fit on there are?

LOL Radio's are pretty easy to install. I think Pioneer is probably the best bang for the buck too when it comes to head units. They are very tuneable and not all that expensive for less than $250 bucks you can have a nice sounding system. I imagine your dash just pops apart like the first gen neons. Nothing to be really worried about here even if it's your first time at putting in a stereo. Just buy the wire harness and the instalation kit and presto! Plug it in secure it in and your ready to rock!
For your wheel question. How big are you thinking of going? You do know that the bigger you go the harder the motor will have to work to get you going. Also the same with slowing down, it's going to take longer and more effort on the pedal. One thing that would be a + for you being is Alaska is the extra ground clearance you will get from going bigger! Thats a good thing where it snows alot!!!! Anyhow read this thread b4 you repost about the tire sizes. Good Luck

The front facia that covers the heater controls, stereo, and vents doesn't pop off with out taking out a couple of screws. You pop the center vents out first and behind them you will find two screws. After they are unscrewed the cover pops out of place and you can disassemble the head unit from there. This will save you from having to replace the front facia. Welcome to the forum fellow Alaskan.

Well, if I knew anything about wheels and tires, I wouldnt have looked for a site like this, which shows I know pretty much next to nothing about them :) About the only thing I knew before I made that post was that remark about the brakes and engine. I know I want to go as big as I can though. Any suggestions?

17's are the most common big wheels put on a Neon. You might get a set of 18's under there. You have to remember the bigger the wheel the more rough it will ride.
Alot of people think that the bigger they go the better the car will handle, this is not the right answer! The car will ride rough as a wagon on the Oregon Trail!
A set of 16 inch rims will take a 205/45/16 tire if you go with 17's you will need a 205/45/17 or a 205/40/17. ANother thing about bigger wheels is the price of the tires to go on them. Expect to pay a good 400$ for a decent set of tires for 16' or 17's.
The sad part is I could out maneuver you on my 14's and a set of 220$ Mastercraft tires. You do what you want tho. It's your ride bro. Good Luck and welcome to DT.

Well, I got the head unit in, and it works just fine...but the dash lights dont function at all. I know I can call Crutchfield and ask them , but I dont think they're open this late. Hopefully someone out there has some knowledge that they can offer.

Haha. Yeah, I figured the problem out and it was a fuse. The other thing that I noticed is that the sound does not come out of the front left speaker. I hooked the old cd player up and it works just fine that way. I'm guessing it is a bad connection in the harness....Pain in the ass getting up all the time to hook and unhook the batter to check it out =)
