The only way I know of that you might get a sponsor is to race your car!! Trust me, there is no one out there willing to just give you money to trick out your ride. No one here that I know if getting sponsored. Maybe EZ4U2Chere because he races SCCA.
Then again I don't ever remember him saying that a sponsor buys his parts.

The only thing I could tell you to do is contact some businesses and ask them about sponsorship. But as I stated above, you will more than likely have to be racing your car. If you do find a sponsor willing to just hand you parts for your car, let us know!!LOL we want some free parts too!!!!!! LMAO

You do not have to race...

Just show the car lol.

There are a lot of way's to get a sponsor but just asking for one will not work. You need to do your homework on it.

It is a good idea to get the car out there so it is seen~ then sponsors will approach you. Getting a car sponsored is not always as good as you think. You have to agree to show up to X amount of shows, events etc etc and a lot of the time it comes out of your pocket.

Say you spend 3K a year taking the car to shows (travel/fuel/hotel/food). And say the parts/paint job/ whatever was only valued at 2500 bucks..

You are now in the hole 500 and a lot of your personal time is gone.

You don't have to be quiet lol.

I just have a good friend who is sponsored by a few places and his car has never been raced, only showed.

He was even invited to SEMA last year but did not go.

Why you ask? b/c he had to transport the car from Houston to Sin City on his own dime. So he said I don't think so.

This is his car~

Sponsorships aren't easy. I'm working on one right now.
The biggest thing you need to do is convince the company why they need you. What can you do for them? What kind of publicity can you give them? What shows have you won? What races have you won? Etc....

As mentioned, sponsorships are not always as good as you think. Cooper sponsors a friend of mine who has a show truck. To me, it's not worth it. If they say "we need your truck at a show in NC next week" he has to go. It's too much time and commitment for me.

The one I'm working on right now is just for local businesses, and I'm not even looking for much. Maybe $2000~ to help cover tires, entry fees, gas, hotel rooms, registration, etc.... Right now I only do events within 200~ miles of my home, but I want to do more, and without being sponsored, those trips get expensive, especially if they are all weekend.

Alot of people have those decals running down this side of the front door or on their windsheild to look like they are sponsored or whatnot. you can get those decals made online for different orgs. like injen, apc, greddy, etc. On Injen's website, they will send you two free sponsor decals if you send a SASE, and many decal site will also. Look around for that. As of sponsors that pay for your stuff, I'm not sure of. I've never thought of that but if you find one let us know. would be NICE! lol

lol sponsors are pains in the ass honestly... like most have said u have to take ur car where they want when they want on ur dime! and if ur thinking bull shi-t then ur wrong lol cause if u live in California and lets say they've dumped $5000 into parts into ur car... by them sponsoring u, u have to sign a paper saying u'll go to certain shows on certain times... u miss a show they take there parts/money back! this guy i know but hate has a 95 civic sponsored they swaped in a turbo motor for him paid for some rims, paint job and wat not and he is basically there lil bi-tch!
