I just bought a 1987 Dodge D-50 Sport before Christmas and had a tough time finding a Haynes Manual for it locally. I did find a bunch of them available on eBay, so I bought one. Unfortunately, I didn't look closely at the item title, description or picture (entirely my own fault) and the Haynes manual I bought is for 1979-1986 Dodge D-50 & Plymouth Arrow Pickups.

What I want to know is .. how much has changed from 1986 to 1987? Will this manual be good enough for basic repairs? Would I be better off to find the actual manual that covers from 1979-1993 "Ram 50/D-50 Pick-Ups & Raider"

Thanks,
Alan

Go to www.bookfinder.com and find the correct manual. It's hard to say what has changed in those years. There is a used one at www.amazon.com for 89 cents plus shipping that might be good for you.

I have an 88 power ram 50, (bought new) the 87, 88, & 89 were all the same truck....( I also ordered an factory shop manual when I bought it)... the later trks had FI, the early ones were basically the same mechanically, but the bodys were a little different, along w/ the frames and some suspension stuff.... Is yours a 4X4? Be careful of the frame, its the weakest part of the truck, cause of the damn rust.... Hopefully, come spring, im gonna pull the bed, and give it the POR 15 treatment, if it is still in one piece....
