I love all mopars,so don't think of this as a flame, but I have never had one of the new Hemi powered rams come close to running with my old 87 longbed D-150.Are they really as anemic as they seem?

They're pretty strong engines, it's just that a Ram 1500 weighs over 5500lbs, where as my 1979 D150 Shortbox only weighs just under 4000. It's all in the power to weight ratio and gearing. A charger R/T on the other hand runs a 14.2 in the 1/4 mile.

The new ones are quick but they just weigh so much as impuresoul2k3 mentioned.
Plus looking at your sig you've got a pretty stout 87 150. I know our 72 is damn quick stock though. That's cause of the Sure Grip 8 3/4" 3.73's. Sure wish it had a couple more gears in the tranny :(
