alright im trying to rearect my fathers 77 powerwagon w100. the truck has been totally gone threw with a 383 magnum from a 70 powerwagon heavy duty 1/2 ton axles 6 inch lift 33's. my problem is the tranny went out several years ago and the truck just sat! when we went to move the truck we finally got it to fire and it DROVE the 15 miles to our new home doing 95 on the freeway!! since then it has just sat! i have been trying everything to fix it and get it ready for my 16th birthday coming up in a few weeks! i got it to start and it ran ok but we knew the carborater needed to be rebuilt and spark plugs replaced because when u reved the engine it would spit and spudder a little bit! so i did those things got everything put back together and tryed to fire it but now it has no spark. the coil is newer and i replaced the baliste resister and the ignition modual not to long ago. i was wondering could my problem be the actual ignition switch located inside the column?? thanks any help would be a life savor!!!!!!

Information.. We need more information.
Does it crank? Does the rotor turn? (inside distributor cap)
I would flush the fuel tank if it smells stale and replace the fuel filter to.

ya then engine cranks and everything seems to get power! i mean not to long ago i had it running and everything seemed well for the exception of when i turned the head lights on they were dim and when we revved the engine the lights when brighter. i mean i the cab when the ignition is OFF the little seat belt light and stuff on the dash stays lit and we had problems of when the truck was running we had to disconet the battery because when i turned the ignition off it kept running! thats why im wondering if its the actual ignition switch inside the column? i mean this was my dads baby he had alot of dreams for this truck but has now moved on to a 2006 ram 2500 big horn adition but he still knows his way around the truck so he helped me check for spark and eveything and said it wasnt getting any!!! thanks!!!

Check the firewall electrical connector make sure it's not burnt. Also look for the article on here about by passing the amp meter. also is your truck auto or manual trans?

Check the ignition switch connectors near the bottom of the steering column for heat damage or breaks in the plastic. Could be the switch inside the column is shot from sitting so long?

more than likely its your ignition switch. I had the same problem with mine after it sat for awhile the connectors corroded and made new paths
