I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about trucks, wiring, or other things. The truck (D150?) has a new battery - there is power going thru the truck. Checked with a meter, positive lead stuck on the battery, neg stuck on the frame and there is voltage. The 'emergency' lights work. Turn the key and nothing happens. No lights, indicators, buzzers, radio... nothing. How in the heck do I get to the ignition switch to check wiring? I can see colored wires coming down the steering column and have no idea what's what. Besides the help needed on how to get to switch, anyone have a wiring diagram for the steering column?
Thanks in advance !!!

Emergency lights are on a seperate circuit. Sounds like you may have a blown fusible link. Grab the link at both ends and pull on it slighly, if it stretches like a rubber band than thats a bad one. check all the battery cable conections too. I'm not sure if your year has that funky 3 wire positive cable or not...if it does than the big white disconnect(butt connector/plug) or whatever may have a problem.

problem turned out to be a cable (hot side) that was real close to the battery and had come loose. so now that the truck is running, here comes COLD weather. dang truck didn't like to run in the first place. (carb trouble?) - now it died in front of the house, thank goodness, and does not want to start. turns over fine, just won't fire up. it's supposed to be warmer saturday - will start messing with that pblm.
Thanks all for the suggestions on the "no power" problem.
