I've been looking for about 4 months now for a vintage set of A.R. Vectors.

Well i tust happen to look on ebay the other night and there they were with 20 minutes left!!! so i log in and update my Paypal account.
30 seconds left!!! Sniper bid at it's finest.
I got my wheels.

They were just droped at my house yesterday.
Dirty!!! They were real bad.

Off to the store i go to find Eagle One Etching wheel cleaner.

Check this out,,, Right on the label is one of my wheels..

Anyways i go home and spray this stuff on one of them and scrubed the snot out of it. Let it sit for a few seconds and rinsed. All i can say is WOW huge differance.
That cleaner is awsome.

FF to today.

I go back to the store and buy another bottle and a paint stripper made for a drill. Made by 3m. Dk red in color. Kinda resembles a heavy duty scotch bright pad.
I go home and clean the other three wheels.
Then when they dry i hit all the raised edges with the drill thing i just bought.
It removed all the blemishes and kinda gave it a polishing as well.

I only got one wheel detailed but it looks awsome.
Just like new.
I'll get a few pics up tomorow.

Just thought i'd share my good find.

Till next time,
Kris

Sweet. Can't waite to see the pix - don't forget a "before" pic. And since I'm making requests, put the can of Eagle1 stuff in the photo too, so we can see what it is.

Glad you found your wheels, BTW. :gr_patrio

I don't think they are bent but i can't be positive untill i can get them on a balencer and check for wobble.

I can't do a before picture because i was so excited the wheel cleaner was working as good as it was i did all 4 before i relized i needed a picture.
Sorry.
But i can takea pic of the wheel that is "done" and put it next to a wheel that is just washed and you'll be able to see a huge differance.

I just have to find a set of 36" tires for them.

I can't Wait!!!!

Yeah those are the ones.

They were alot darker and dirtier when i recieved them.

They look killer. 2 have minor curb rash but i can pick and file them out( i think)

This one is about as clean as i wan't to go with it for now.

This is what they all looked like after cleaning with Eagle One Etching wheel cleaner.

Here is a pic of all four.

They are all in good useable condition.
Great condition actually considering they are from 1978.
That what the sticker says on the inside on the wheel.
Turns out they are not A.R. Vectors but Even better Westin Brand Turbine's

The 2 on the left have had the edges rubbed out. Notice the differance???

They Look Great. Are you going to paint them?

No plans on painting just yet.
It all depends on if i can get the two wheels on the right to look as good as the two wheels on the left.
I think they were mounted on the front of what ever they were on.
Brake dust stained them a little darker than the other two.

If i can not get them perfect then i will paint them the lightest shade of grey and then repolish the edges again.. Just to make all 4 wheels uniform in color.

Ooooooooh, I likey! Those are good lookin' rims, and your doing a nice job bringing them back. I didn't know those were made in an 8 lug version. Those are going to look great when they're on the truck.

Might want to consider investing in some good quality wheel locks (lug nuts) so they don't ever wonder off and find a new home.
