Hi guys,
I got another problem and I just can't figure it out, here goes, I have a 78 dodge truck with the round seal beams (new blue color) it has nice bright high beams and very dim low beams. I took the three wire connector off and run a ground wire directly from the battery to the low beam side of the head light, it still is very dim, when I reverse to the high beam side it is as bright as when they're hooked up. It can't be the bulb as I hooked up another directly to the battery (which is less than 3 months old) and its still the same. I would hate to but the plastic headlights that you can change just the bulb in and have the same problem. Any ideas???

How old are the headlights? I had the same problem and just replaced the headlights and got much brighter lowbeams. But I think my headlights were very, very old.

From the battery, run a power wire AND a ground wire to the headlight with the engine running and see what you get. Is your charging system working ok...you should have around 14+ volts at the battery with the engine running. Maybe your news headlights lens are ground different for lown beam vs high beam. I used to have some Cibie Z Beams that the glass was laser cut to produce a flat beam on low and a long range beam on high.
