1969 318. Need answers for pistons.

I just recently had machine work on a 1969 Dodge 318 and the questions I have are:

1) do the oil holes on the side of the rods point up? (to squirt oil in the opposing cylinder) and that would put the bearing nothes towards the outside of the engine. The rods or pistons are not numbered in sequence and all have the same part numbers.

2)I have a set of rings by Perfect Circle. The side with the dot goes up I have learned, but one ring has a inside bevel that sopposedly goes down. Should this ring be in the top or second compression ring grove?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Never mind you guys. I guess the questions here were beyond your comprehension. I found a source that was willing to help. I seen 12 views on this subject and I guess all walked away with your thumbs up your asses and confused. Sheesh.....so much for finding help here on anything.

I guess you figured out the answers.
The oiling holes do go towards the center of the engine to oil the opposite side piston. The larger chamfer on the rod faces forward on the left-side bank (1-3-5-7) and rear on the right-side bank (2-4-6-8).
I have come across the ring issue also and the upper ring was marked with the chamfer (bevel) up, the 2nd ring chamfer (bevel) down.
The #'s on the rods that are stamped in are there so you can get the right rod and cap to together. (Matching #,s)
