Wiper Arm Pivot

I am having a problem with changing a wiper arm pivot on a 1994 Caravan/Town and Country (are they practically the same?).
It has these orange colored clips that connect the pivots to the arms. Anyone have an idea on how to get these clips off without breaking them? Many thanks!

What happens when you attempt to change the arms??

The arms pop right off. The driver's side pivot is bad, as the wiper arm will not move. Through further inspection, the knob on the wiper arm pivot turns around and around. It's no supposed to do that....
