'92 ram 150 tailgate problem

Hey the guy i bought the truck from used to carry heavy things in the bed and something slid back and nailed the tailgate pretty bad, now the inside is dented

Also if you lower the tailgates its a problem to get it back up and closed, the dent isn't a big deal to me althought i would like to be able to lower it andlock it so i want to get that fixed right away as i need to be able to climb in and out of there daily. thanks for any help or suggestions u might have

probably easier to replace tailgate,than straighten it.
