cracked power steering pulley

I have a 97 with 3.8l v6 making a loud squeaking noise once a second or so at idle. I have narrowed it down to the power steering pump pulley area. Has anyone heard of the pulley cracking and creating a squeaking noise? I have looked at replacing the pulley in Haynes manual. Are there any better instructions online for a step by step description of how to get the power steering pump ass'y off?

Ok this isn't from a dodge product but it sounds like what happened to the ex-wife's sunbird, in this case the power steering pulley was worn so badly inside the unit that it wore through the housing. Kind of hard to explain but the pulley could be moved in and out.
Autozone.com has some online manuals, and might have what you are looking for as far as power steering unit removal and such.
