A604 problems

I have a 2000 grand caravan that will not move. When backing up the other day it stopped then jerked then stopped. The transmission will not go into any gear but feels like it drops into reverse and drive but the engine just revs and no go sometimes jumping forward a couple of feet. I tried to force it into limp mode by unhooking the solenoid connector but no go. One other strange thing when the solenoid connector is plugged in and the shifter is in neutral it will not roll until you shut the engine off.

Unless your differential is locked up (say the pin broke and jamed the spider gears), I'd say your trans is toast.

You should ALWAYS have reverse and 2nd gear forward on an A604.

Either way its going to be a hard part failure

thanks for the tip sounds like i will be dropping the trans.
