Hi Guys,

Does anyone use a pressure bleeder to bleed the brakes on a caravan? If so, what brand/type/etc. do you use. I'm not sure if it's even possible with the neck extension that is used on the reservoirs on these vans - can the reservoir be pressurized? If not, can the extension be easily removed from the reservoir (without damage) to hook up a pressure bleeder? Thanks in advance,

-Daire

I will have to admit that I do not use a pressure bleeder

I did mine with a vacuum pump; it is a true one man operation and I believe a vacuum pump is alot cheaper than a pressure bleeder set-up

The vacuum pump is also handy for other jobs as well

I recently read somewhere that using a vacuum bleeder isn't advisable with ABS because of the possibility of creating vapor bubbles in the system.

For my vehicles (caravan included) I use a brake bleeder bottle but I have someone watching to make sure the air isn't drawn back into the line. This can be accomplished by having someone close the bleeder screw between pumps and making sure the resevoir has brake fluid in it at all times. More work, more hassle but if air is a concern this is the way to go IMHO.
