My FOB for my 2005 Grand Caravan will not lock or unlock my doors. I take it to the dealer, and they reprogram them for $$$$. Anywhere from a few days, up to a few months later they've lost the program again. The dealer won't tell me what causes it, or how to do it myself. Will someone please tell me how to reprogram my keyless entry fob, and save me some money.
Thanks

Sure your batteries are good ? Have you tried replacing the battery ? If you can program it it will be in your owners manual .

It's a Braun Handicapped Conversion Van. Two of the remotes are brand new. The dealer said it must be something wrong with the conversion part. But I would like to know how to reprogram the FOB's (all 4 of them) until I am able to make the trip back to the sellspeople.

i have a 2003 grand caravan and neither of my remotes work...they were, i changed the batteries and still nothing...any ideas of how i can reprogram them? the manual says you need one working one, but i don't have that. So do i HAVE to go the dealer to reprogram and spend some big $$$?

I don't know. When my keyless remotes stop working, even my electric lock buttons on the doors don't work. I sure hope somebody out there can help us reprogram our fobs without a lot of cost.

If you google "programming caravan keyless entry" you should be able to find the routine.
The big problem is you have to have a keyless entry that is working, then you can program as many as you want to work with your van.
If you don't have one that is working then you have to hook up the van to a computer(dealership, unless you have one) and tell the van to recognize your keyless entry.
I will try to find the routine for programming and post it up later.

Programming The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Module
1. Unlock the vehicle and disarm the Vehicle Theft Security System.
2. Insert ignition key into the ignition switch.
3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN position without starting the engine.
4. Using a functional key fob transmitter, press and hold the UNLOCK button for a minimum five seconds (maximum ten seconds).
5. While still holding the UNLOCK button, and before ten seconds passes, press the PANIC button and release both at the same time. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module is set to receive the new Vehicle Access Code(s).
6. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons on the transmitter at the same time. Then press and release any one of the buttons. The BCM will sound an abbreviated chime to acknowledge that the programming of the transmitter has been completed and was successful.
7. Repeat step 6 for all transmitters that will be used with this vehicle, up to 4 total.
8. Programming mode will last for 30 seconds. To get out of programming mode sooner, turn the ignition OFF. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module will no longer accept additional Vehicle Access Code(s).
9. When Vehicle Access Code(s) programming is complete, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and verify RKE system operation using each key fob.
