I have been searching and searching and can't find anywhere on the net that shows how to rewire the foglights on a 99 neon so that they can come on with the running lights and stay on when the brights are on. It's fine if they even stay on with the engine running. I just want them on! lol. Could someone please help me with this?! :help: Thanks! :rck:

the how to is on neons.org. I did it myself last yr. You cut a wire from the back of the switch on the fog lights and jump it to one on the rear defrost switch.

Looks like a light blue wire coming from the harness goes to a purple /white stripe on the fog light switch and a white wire on the defrost switch. Also there is a wire taped up in red, but I can only guess which one it is. Not sure what to do if you do not have a defroster.

So, does this mean they will stay on all the time? just when the engine is on? when the defrost is on, or when u press the fog light switch? im just tryin to get this straight b4 i go and mess anything up.. ive been wanting to do this for a while. because i have eyebrows, and i like the way they look with just the runnning lights, and i think it would look even better with the fog lights on w/o the headlights. How do you like it?? Yes, I got the instructions from neons. org , but they were way too confusing for me because they wrote it as if you had to buy and install new foglights, but mine are already in. Alright let me clear things up. Where does the blue wire come from?? i get what you are saying after that.. but i do need to take a look at my wires cuz maybe its already there. i have the defrost and fog light switches at the same place. Can you tell me what that white thing that is connecting the wires is called? Also, what is the wire in the red tape and does it have to be in there? Thanks alot!cant wait till i get feedback & able to hook it up!

They would come on when the key turns forward if you do not click the button to turn them off. Cant remember if they turn off with the car, I think they do. I have PIAA's now and its not the same circuit =/

If you have the fog light and rear defrost switches you need to pop out the module and look at the back. I have no clue what you would call the white piece, it is a common part at a Radio Shack or electronic parts store. You just need to connect one wire with 2~
I am also not sure what wire I had to cap in the red tape, just look at your harness and you can prob figure it out.

When I used my stockers I had them on 24/7, used them as daytime driving lamps.

And I am not sure why the .org's instructions did not do it for you. That is how i learned how to do it.

Thanks alot! i'll try to figure out the wire in the red tape... is it necessary to do that tho?? I'm gong to try us a big wire connector to connect those three wires. Let me know about any other mod's you would suggest since we got the same car! workin with these neons is fun aint it!>!? :rck:

To wire them up for running all the time should be easy as pie. You could wire the hot wire from your lights into the raidio's power wire. Not the battery wire (yellow) the power wire which is red. It only has power when the key is on thus they will shut off when the car is off. This would be easy with an aftermarket stereo rather than the factory harness in which yould have to cut and splice back together.
Then theres always the age old toggle switch! LOL Power when you want it! LOL good luck
