I'm looking a potential good deal on a 98 with a broken timing belt. Does anyone know if this has an interference engine? (obviously that makes a big difference as to whether its a good deal or not).
If there is more than one engine for that year, please let me know. I'm not sure what this has.

Yep sure is.
Probably some bent valves in that puppy.

All 2.0L engines were interference engines (i.e. all neon engines). If the timing belt goes, so do the valves... If you're lucky the valves wont damage the head or the pistons too much.
