my blinker has been having problems, when i flip it up to turn right it goes blinks really fast and my blinkers dont blink but sometimes it will work just fine. ive noticed that when i have my lights on while driving at night the light behind the blinker signal stays lit. its just constantly green, if anyone could help me fix this it would be greatly appreciated. thanks all.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere... Blinking fast means you have a bulb out, but if you have a short and the bulb is not blinking the same thing will happen. Your dashlights for the blinkers should NOT be lit with your lights on, it should only flash when you activate the blinker.

When your blinker displays solid light isn't that the indicator that that bulb is bad? Can't remember what car I had that that was the indicator...no idea if it is the same for the neon. Haven't had a bad blinker bulb yet!

well i have a similar problem sometimes my left blinker light comes on for no reason and sometime if you hit the brakes it lights up but not all time,blinker bulbs are fine and i took off the steering column and cleaned it well and still has the same thing

the bulbs are all good, all my blinkers blink when it works properly, so i guess it must be a short somewhere.

I have replaced the turn signal switch on my wife's neon......super easy to do. We had problems with the signals too.

A bad con tact between the bulb and socket can do this exact problem and still allow the light to flash.

I've got the same problem. But on that side I have some minor front end damage I figured the wires got smashed together on that side. I'll find out when I get in there to straighten everything up.

hey redneck i got the same problem... sometimes when i hit the brakes my left turn signal comes on.... i just replaced my right rear turn signal bulb after i got pulled over for it... it never gave any indication it was out... my 96 neon does have a few other ghost like problems... spedo not working for no reason once in a while an the dome light going on when all doors are closed an it wont go out till it decides to on its own.... i just chalk it all up to having 260k miles

mine may be in switch too cause when it ligyts up when hitting brake you can touch blinker switch and it will stop lighting up till you hit brakes again... might check into that also

Mine did the same thing blink real fast (right turn signal) twice. I found out the taillight bulb had gone bad. changed it out and it works fine. might want to give it a try and check all your turn signal bulbs just in case. there are two filaments in a taillight bulb, one for the turn signal and the other for the taillight itself. the taillight filament (turn signal) was busted. hope this helps
