yikes, battery cable replacments

my van acted like the battery was dead today

you know, the old click click click ...

(it IS an old battery, so I guess - time to replace it)

but I noticed the clamps that hold the cables to the battery are super thin,

one is even CRACKED = yikes

cleaned the connections really good and it started right up, but I'm going to need to get those replaced

but the way the cables themselves look - I don't think you can just replace the (stock) clamp and add a decent one .... or can you ????

You could probably use a "generic" type cable for the negative side, but the positive cable might be a application specific type thing, ya know?

Can you post a pic of those cables? I'd be interested in seeing what exactly you have. The negative cable on my '85 is cracked at the clamp as well...a new one will go on this weekend. The cable clamps on my '94 are beefy...like me! ;)
