I'm open to suggestions here on my '00 Ram Van

thinking about a wheel / tire upgrade

If I currently have 235/75/15 and go to a 17" wheel, what tire size will fit and match things up correctly, so my speedo will still read (fairly) true ?

RAM MAN - For what it's worth, my vote is keep it the way it is. I think it looks awesome with the chrome steel factory wheels and the RWL tires on it now. :rck: :rck:

275/55R17. both overall diameters equal 28.9. :)

on the left, click on Overall Diameter Chart. handy chart. :)

btw, what will you be doing with the factory chrome jobs? if you decide to sell 'em, i'm interested. :)

If you do end up with a speedo that's off...you can get the proper pinion gears from Dodge.

thanks

according to that chart = 275/55R17 should work ... but I wonder if they would be too wide

275 divided by 25.4 (mm/in) equals 10.83 inches. 235 (the tires on it now) divided by 25.4 equals 9.25 inches. mind you 275 is tread width, not the actual tire width. the tire is a tad bit wider...

Depending on offset, the front should be fine. I tried my 15x8's on front of my van, with 275-60's, and they fit better then my 15x7's because of the offset. I was checking this because I'm going to put 15x10's on 275-60' in the back, and 15x8's on 255-60's in front. I'm putting on flares and this combination will fill out wheel well just right....
