Has anyone done this? There are a couple of openings in the bumper. I'm wondering what I should use? Any suggestions?

He-he, I though about putting in fog lights there too, but living up here in snow country near Buffalo, NY, I need those slots to knock off the ice and snow on my wiper blades. Also, those slots are good for cleaning the window as a gas station too.

Maybe you need to carry around one of these. :soapbox::D(Ignore the angry 'lil guy on top)
I can get both the windshield and the crap off the blades, but my wife can't reach that stuff. She can't get the snow off of it either.
I'll have to share the tip.

You could probably mount them to the bottom of the bumper, but they would look better in the bumper slots. Just couldn't use them as a step anymore.

Buy a license plate step, I have one on mine, the plate mounts on the front of it, then it folds down as a step so u can reach the windshield, the lights would look better in those bumper slots. I never even knew they were supposed to be for steps.
I bought mine at Sears many years ago, but I think JCWhitney and Campers world sell them now, in Black and in Chrome.

Well, for what its worth, the black plastic inserts on my '98 actually say "Not a Step", or something similar, right on them. Likely put there by the lawyers, I would guess.
Is there enough depth in there to recess the lights back a few inches, so that you could still use it as a step?

Now that is a GREAT idea for access to the wipers and windshield! :D
As for the multi-lens lights, that's another great setup.
I once tried putting so-called K-Mart fog lights at the bottom of my 1977 Apsen sedan bumper. The bugs and flying stones over time ruin them. :WHT:
Putting these into the Ram Van bumper steps would be ideal. Even more so if the fit-up was done well. :)
I say measure twice and find a good set of lights. Then, make a step-by-step with photos of your modding. (Pun intended on the steps lol)
