I was thinking about putting on Magnaflow mufflers for a deeper sound. I'm not too worried about the performance gains, I just want it a little louder. Does anyone know what the purpose of those two resonator things are at the exhuast tips? Can I safely remove them?

I think the resonators are used mainly to quiet the exsisting mufflers,I think that someone on this site has removed the resonators with the stock mufflers and claimed it sounded good.

Thanks for the reply. FYI I asked my local mufffler shop about the Magnaflow mufflers, and he said that they would only install the entire system. It seems that just installing the mufflers makes it sound bad inside the car and they have had a lot of customers return to get the system installed or go back to stock.

The Magnaflows on a Charger are very nice,I have them on a MAgnum SRT8 and because of the rear area they get a tad loud at low speeds under load.

i was thinking about headers! would that make it alot louder? i dont want to wake up the neighbors.
