I've noticed that the transmission on my '06 Charger R/T tends to be 'sloppy' at times. I've had the same experience with the tranny on my old Cadillac CTS. Does the superchip 'tighten up' what seems to be a feeling of slack with in the transmission?

It tightened up my "sloppiness" feeling, for sure!

Yep, the flashpaq will firm up the shift points. It will seem like a totally new car. ;)

Sorry to be so dumb, but where is the hookup site where I hook up the s/c to tune an '06 Charger R/T 5.7 hemi? I have the s/c, so I need to know where to plug'er in! Thanks.

Under the dash below the steering wheel you will see the large connector that matches the programmer. Firmly push it on and the s/c will come on. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Plugged the SC in on Sunday and went with the 87 octane tune. I must say, I was able to feel a difference right away. Don't know if the car is any quicker/faster but the lag or slack that was in the transmission is gone. To me, the car should have been programmed from the factory with the 87 octane, performance setting for the trans...
Once I get more familiar with the SC I will try out the HP setting... I just wanted to make sure I didn't experience any issues and I haven't.
Quick question: Do you have to read the stock program each time you want to change a setting? I actually loaded the 87 octane program 2 times because I wasn't clear on the directions... So, I read the stock program, loaded the 87 octane tune, read stock program again, read the 87 octane program again. It would be nice if the Flashpaq said .... Congratulations... You are finished ... or something like that...
I have to agree, this mod is worth the money and the fact that it can download from the web is huge... Its nice having a way to clock 0-60, 1/4 mile times without having a racetrack nearby...

Thanks, Radarmagnet, for the information. Will do. I'm going to surprise my daughter by setting her R/T on High Performance to see if she notices the difference-which, of course, she WILL! I'll have the car tomorrow, so I'll report back with G-tech differences. First I'll run a baseline in stock format, and a second with the H.P. format. The G-tech should reflect an improvement in 1/4 mile e.t. and speed.

update: be sure to use the website to update the programmer before putting on the car... This will insure the compatiblity with the latest LX models.
Gojiro4065,
No, you don't need to read stock everytime... In fact, if you do it a second time (after applying a program) it really doesn't do anything...
Once you return to stock, the FP(flashpaq) is reset to "no car" and you will have to read stock again. (or you can use it on another LX)
Flyntgr,
the FP will time lots of things like 1/4 mile or 60ft or 0-60... just make sure you set the tire size correctly: use a tape measure on the tire to start, then use mile markers (more than 10) or a GPS to make sure you are close to the right calibration. Otherwise the speedo and odo will be off.

I installed the superchip, but the engine stalls when I set it on the 5,800 setting. This might just be caused by the mixing of 3/4 tank of 89 octane with 7 gals. of 93 octane. The quarter mile e.t. improved by .23 seconds and 1.4 mph, with .3 seconds better on 0-60 times (5.68 sec. vs 5.98 without superchip). I tried to adjust the torque converter, but I'm not sure it made any difference. I hope to get the shift rpm's up when the old mixture of gas is gone.

No, you don't have to read stock each time. In fact you shouldn't do that because you would overlay the stock flash stored on the superchips. There wouldn't be a way to go back to stock... unless the dealer flashes it.
When you take it to a dealership for service it's good practice to put it back to stock. The dealership might put an update that would wipe out your SC flash, also it would be harder for them to find out that your running a SC <= not that it matters but it may save you some grief if you have a dealership that isn't flexable. Once you get the car back re-read stock and then program w/SC.

From my understanding with SC I most likely did not overlay the stock program with the SC program even though I didn't return it to stock before reading the stock program twice... I think tonight I may try and return it to stock just to make sure.. I'll know because the tranny will be back to its usual laggness...
Not sure where you all live but its snowing here today in the midwest...

The baseline for the R/T was a best of 14.33 @ 103.2 mph, but after the superchip installation it ran a best of 14.1 @ 104.5mph. Best Zero to sixty was 5.68 as compared to 5.98. How do these numbers compare with your R/T?

Which S/C are you using? Any suggestions on which one? Which ones to avoid?

Which S/C are you using? Any suggestions on which one? Which ones to avoid? We are talking about the SuperChips Flashpaq programmer, not a supercharger. As far as programmers go, there is the Flashpaq and also a Hypertech. AFAIK

Yes, I have reviewed the advertisement for both, I was wondering if anyone had any opinion regarding advantages of one over the the other?

Yes, I have reviewed the advertisement for both, I was wondering if anyone had any opinion regarding advantages of one over the the other?Right now, the Superchips Flashpaq has more options, but there is a different Hypertech programmer in beta (check ********) that should have a greater set of features.
