headlamp problem

Help if anyone can help me it would be great I have a 2001 caravan with some headlamp problems when the headlamps are off and the day time running lights are on the right lamp works and when the headlights are turned on the left headlight works only and when the high beams are on the right headlamp works can anyone tell me what the heck is going on

The problem is in the PDC (power distribution center) need to replace it. It is the black box that holds all the relays and fuses near the battery.

No you can't fix it that I know of, it needs to be replaced. Maybe try to find a used one.

a minor rant if i might: why is is that the manufacturers have decided that everything now needs to be controlled by a controller or computerized part that:
also controls a bunch of other stuff,
makes it difficult to diagnose a problem
inevitably is costly to replace

it might be change but it sure as hell is not progress

my rattletrap D100 has a headlight switch that controls headlamps - full stop ( okay so it does also control the parking/tail lights and the interior lights)

but hell - if the headlamp or tail lamp or interior lamps are acting up one does not need to be a NASA technician with a bunch of test gear to track the problem

I think I will stop now before I really get myself wound up

I understand your frustration but its not just Chrysler vehicles having problems with basic stuff. My daughters spent close to $2000.00 on a Maxima for check engine light problems. She replaces a perge valve and a knock sensor, the shop clears the codes and after 25 miles of driving the system resets and more check engine light codes. She returns to the dealer and has to replace a map and temp sensor. Two weeks later another code turns on the light. My Altma check engine light came on with two codes. The dealer wanted $300.00 plus $160.00 for labor to repair it. I found a Nissan enthusiast's shop owned by a couple of kids that were no more than 23 years old. They send me to a dealer to get a part for $90.00, installed it for $45.00 and the light hasn't come on since.

I have the same problem, and by removing the front control module that is mounted to the fuse box, and cleaning the contacts and reseating the FCM, the problem went away. However, it may be a temporary fix since I was able to tweak the connection by hand and the lights went back to what they are doing.

On poster said his dealer installed shims between the FCM and fuse box. May have to try that.

Lights stopped working again. I tapped on the FCM and they came n again. I intalled a shim between the top of the FCM and fuse box, lights have stayed normal for two days now, we'll see.......... :WHT:
