Remote/keyless entry components

Hi,

I recently bought a 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager. It came with the stock keyless entry keyfob, but the keyfob doesn't work, even after replacing the batteries it in.

Can anyone tell me what and where the components in the remote/entry system are, and what might have failed? I noticed a small antenna-like wire poking out of the headliner up behind the rear-view mirror - is this part of the keyless entry system, or something else? Thanks in advance,

You may just need to reprogram the Keyfob transmitter, the instructions are in the owner's manual.

Thanks 2000TC. Unfortunately, the van only came with one remote, and according to the owner's manual, in order to program one remote, you need another remote. : (
