i may have asked this question before but a computer crash has cost me my notes

I have a 1984 d100 with a bog stock 318 (factory holley 2bbl and stock ingition) coupled to a 3sp+od manual gearbox

I am looking for a little more out of the engine and my spies tell me the first thing to do is open up the exhaust with some headers.

any recommenmdations?

money is tight mind you

I gather coated headers keep underhood temperature down which is good for all the bits around and above the headers

I intend to keep the cat in place

Check out this website...

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/performance/

Their prices are high, but they have a good selection with good descriptions of their products. Then you can look for 'price' on what you want.

Although I'm sure you're gonna get lots of tips from everyone... I haven't put headers on anything in a long time... So long ago that basicly the only choices then were Hedman or Hooker ;)

I would check out Summit... Hedman street hedders are about 135... Their ceramic coated headers are like 380, so i dont think that coating would be worth that much to you.

I would suggest getting Hedmans though.

Hedman part #79080 are the best fitting headers for Dodge trucks period. They have ball & socket style collectors eliminating the pesky gaskets.DO NOT buy Summit headers as they are the worst fitting of all time!!! (I have a set in my garage)
