What is it with my dakota. When I hit a bump it shutters. I had the wheels balanced twice to know avail. Can anybody help?????

I have always attributed it to an empty cargo bed. Less weight in back than front could cause that, I believe. I am not 100% sure however.

Well there may be some truth to that. I know what you’re talking about with the shutter and I have felt that in Rams too. Once my 300 lb topper was installed the shutter was greatly reduced. This makes me believe that the rigid mass clamped on the bed rails reduced the reverberation of the metal bed wall sides.

It get realy bad with a lod . the dearler says toomuch air in the tiers but that didn't work. Thanx

Alot of it has to do with the harmonics of the overall truck. It's very stiff, and it transmits everything it's doing right up to the driver. Lowering tire pressure should help, because when I raised mine to the 44PSI max up from 35PSI that they had, the shudder or stutter or whatever you want to call it got noticeably worse. But for fuel mileage purposes I left the pressure up.
