Hello Everyone,

I was thinking about puchasing a used 2001 Dodge Intrepid SE.
The car is black with black wheels - Motorsport edition.

"It has 60,000 miles on it and it costs $9,420."

Options include:
Rear Spoilrer , 17 inch black rims , V6 , Automatic , Ps , Pb , Air ,
P-seat , P-locks , P-windows , Tilt , Cruise-Control and Cassette/CD player.

What I am asking is, Do you think this is a good deal or not?
Please be honest.

Thank You.

That sounds like a really good deal, espicaly for a motor sports edition. I did a search on autotrader and most of there 2001 intrepids there where from $11,500 - $14000. The cheapest 2001 i found was $8000 but it was the base model and had 90,000 miles on it. So it sounds like it is a very good deal.

S. Weigel, no problem. I was on ebay just a few minutes ago and they had a motorsports edition for a reserve of $18,500. So again it sounds like it's a really good deal.

Remember that there is a big difference between the SE and ES or R/T motorsports editions. SE = 2.7, ES = 3.2, and R/T = 3.5. S.Weigel, is that pic the actual pic of the motorsports edition you want to buy or just a general pick? If it is an ES or R/T than I would say go for it. If it is a SE than that is about the going rate. Quite amazing to see a 2001 with 60,000 miles on it.

-Look for 2001 Intrepid SE on their list.

It is an SE model. The picture I posted was not of the actual car. It was just the closest general picture I could find to what I have planned. I plan on adding fog lights and tinting the side windows if all goes well.

below is an actual picture of the car.

Well, I recently bought the car and I love it. Thanks everyone.

My next question is, since the fog lights require a new bumper, How much would it cost to add a Fog Lights package? A general estimate would be great.

I will ask my dealer, but I wanted to see if anyone knew offhand.

I am just curious.

THANKS!

Sometimes you can get a very good deal on ebay for as ES or R/T front end for about $200. Then all you have to do is add the fogs and paint the bumper. To get one through the dealer is going to cost you a pretty penny. To do it you need the front end, the fogs, and the light switch. Through the dealer you are looking at about $900. My advise is to look on ebay from time to time and do the work yourself. BTW.....welcome to the intrepid clan. I know the intrepid inside and out. Feel free to ask anything on mods.

I think its very sharp

if I could fit my drums in the back of one of those (or a 300M) I'd make it my daily driver !
