I have a 2000 GC-SE. It has 78k on it. I am getting ready to take it from Missouri to Florida for a family vacation. I am leary because I had the trany lock up at 65k, one week after we returned from out last trip to florida. So, am giving it a tune up before we leave. Any suggestions on what to do besides the oil, wires, plugs, tire check/rotation? Maybe the fuel filter? Is it easy to change? I am taking to a shop to have the AC looked at because I think the freon is low.

The fuel filter should not be that hard to replace. I don't know where it is on your car but on mine it is along the driver's side frame rail on the inside like right under the door. The Fuel like just pops off either side and you connect the new one in. Also it wouldn't hurt to check belts and hoses and battery and things like that. Check all your fluids. That should cover it. If your tranny locked up before make sure you check your tranny fluid. Always check that with the engine on and the line should be up to the warm or hot line. Depending on if your tranny is warm or hot. With the engine on it should not be above the hot line or below the warm line. I think.
