I have a 2000 GC..that has some knocking coming from the engine. Its not real bad , but wife is getting ready to drive to Arizona friday, and Im looking to smooth it out a bit.
I put sea foam through the crankcase the other day, and plan on getting the oil changed tomorrow. When I do..should I go and add some Slick 50 to it? It has 71,000 on it. I know the best thing to do, would be get the engine looked at, however funds at this time are rather tight, so looking for a alternative for the time being.
Thanks for all help, and advice

Personally i stay away from additives, they make the problem worse in most cases. The best way to go would be to have the oil changed and use Mobile 1 motor oil, it has and enchanched detergent formula that will clean out the sludge thats most likely causing your chatter problem. And with a nice long drive ahead it will have ample time to clean your engine. When you get back change your oil and filter and keep using Mobile 1 and you'll see a difference.

I've used Mobile 1 in my 3.0L since 40K and its as quiet as the day i bought it and it now has 230,000 miles on it.
