I was wonderig if anybody else's airbag light has gone off and had to take it in to be recalibrated Well i have it happened twice the took the cost for the first 2 times but they said if it happenes again i have to pay for it casuse it wascsued by wither me sitting something in the passenger seat that was less the 50 punds or a bottle rolled under the seat or my child was kicking the car seat (as if i would let my child kick my CHARGER). I asked if i was allowed to set grociereson the passengerseat and the told me no. I am stuck as to what to do i love the car but i am not going to pay for something that is not my fault and yes i have 5/ warrainte. If i jut let the light stay on my airbag is shut off. Any suggestions?

I'm not even sure I understand what you just said. But there is no reason why the airbag light should malfunction because you set a bag of groceries in the passenger seat!
Yes, the light will come on but it should go right back off when the small item(s) are removed from the passenger seat.

They told me that the sensor is sensitive enough to go off if even a pop bottle rolls under the seat. and that might have casused it The light comes on and stays on so what should i do?

I had that happen and they told me it was because somethign was left in the seat overnight and it reset itself and caused it to read wrong. I do think that that is BS if it reset itself with somethingin the seat why wouldn't it reset itsself with nothing in the seat. I don't thank that we should be having that issue at all with this . maybe one of the dealers can explain it better then ours could but soemthing doesn't seem right esp when I get told that calibrations are only covered for 12k miles or 12 months. and I hav ethe 6yr 60k mile extended coverage. only nice part is the free rental car.

Dodge can not deny fixing the problem if it breaks again. No where in the manual does it say anything about the warrenty being void if you set something in the passenger seat for any length of time. If they tell you that you have to pay for it you can always call chrysler corperate and tell them that the dealership is not honoring the warrenty. If you take it in a third time I would recomend looking up your states lemon law. I know in California after 2 times to the dealership with out resolving the problem for a safety issue (this would be a safety issue since it refers to the airbags) you have the right to have chrysler take the car back. Mentioning that will generally motivate the dealership to actually fix the problem instead of giving you some BS. And, yes this works cause I am on my second charger, since I lemon lawed my first one. If you do go that way, alittle advice KEEP ALL RECORDS, and make sure you have everything in writing. I didn that and actually had no problem what so ever dealing with Chrysler about it.
So I would take the car back and talk to the service manager when you drop it off and tell them that this is the third time you have had the car in for this and that you will not except it back until it is fixed.
