I have a delivery route, which I service with a 2005 sprinter. Today my driver got stuck at a stop when the gear selector would not move out of park. He took it to a car dealer, who changed a blown fuse, and told him to pick up a pack of fuses, just in case. during the day he blew five more fuses. I spoke to a Dodge service tech briefly who suggested it might be related to a short in the tow package. I am going to pick the truck up now to look at it. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Upon Driving found out it is fuse #5 Brake Lamp. In addition, the only other noticeable difference is the cruise control is not working.

I am having the same issues, (no cruse control and having to manually unlock the gear select lever) did you figure out the problem?

This sounds kinda of silly but..... I have had similar problems twice, there is a return spring on the brake pedal that will stretch out. This will cause brake light to come on or stay on which automatically disengages cruise. It is possible that after extended brake light on time it could blow a fuse. My problem first became noticeable when cruise would cut out after hitting a bump.
