Just bought a new Charger R/T. I have the standard stereo (AM/FM CD) and the auxiliary port that is supposed to be at the bottom left corner is not there. Dodge lists this as standard equipment on their website AND in the dealer brochure I picked up at my dealer before buying it.

This may sound stupid, but this was a big selling point for me and I'm not too happy that it is not there. I tried harassing my dealer and Dodge about it and they both said there is nothing they can do as my particular "model" (apparently there have been three "models" of R/T's so far) did not come with it.

We love the Charger so far, but am I the only one who thinks this is false advertising? Anyone else get a Charger with no auxiliary port? I know the 6 CD changer version and DVD navigation version both don't have it, but the standard stereo is supposed to on ALL models of Charger!

Stated it was there and proved it,

I'm driving a 300 (rental car) and it has it. Radio code is REF, it's a 2006.

Could just be a difference between years.

I know what you're talking about. I don't have it on mine because i have the upgrade stereo with the cassette. The standard 276 watt system is supposed to have it in the bottom left corner. Stop at the dealer and look for this on another charger. Make sure it doesn't ahve the 322 watt system with the cassette though. Good luck.

I didn't realize the power difference between the REF and RAK units was that much. I wish the RAK unit had the AUX port too!

Our Charger initially had the standard REF radio without the AUX port (but it was pre-owned with an early build date). I would have thought that any newly built Chargers would have the unit with the AUX port. If your Charger was recently built, I'd be angry too especially since the manual only lists three radio units (REF with AUX port, RAK and REC) none of which being the unit you have.

If it's any consolation, I went the eBay route and picked up a unit with the AUX port fairly cheaply (i.e., less than $75 shipped). It was a simple swap that took about five minutes to do. If the dealership or DCX won't help you out, there's always that option.

But if you want to push the issue with the dealership or DCX further, I'd find out what the build date of your Charger is. If it's after the date that the unit with the AUX port was made available, then you should have it in my opinion. If not, then I suppose they could replace it at their discretion. I think the date listed on our unit with the AUX port is February 2006 but I'll check at lunch.

I hope you get the situation sorted out quickly. Oh... and welcome to DodgeTalk!

Just just checked for a date. There wasn't one. Now I'm wondering what I installed that had a date on it...

My 2006 Mega Cab has the aux. port on the am/fm cd player. But the RAQ am/fm 6 disk mp3 unit I swapped it out with doesn't.

What is the build date of your car? Perhaps some of the early Chargers did not have the auxiliary port.

I know my '05 Dakota with the top of the line 6-disc radio does not have this, even though the '06 Dak with the basic radio does. Makes me feel kinda cheated. lol

I bought my first charger in Aug 05 and it had the aux port. So I would say the early versions of the car had it the new ones should as well.

I will check out my car tonight when I pick it up to see if it has it as well. It is an 06 with a std radio w/o the cassete.

I do have the AUX port and supposedly have the boston accoustic speaker system. Not sure if that is the bottom of the barrel or not but it still sounds good. My 2 cents

Thanks everyone. As an update - I tried harassing my dealer and they said "It's VIN specific and there's nothing we can do about it". So I decided to give Dodge a call and bring up the issue with them. They basically told me the same thing. I wasn't too happy because if you look on Dodge's website RIGHT NOW, it says that the one with the Auxiliary port is STANDARD.

So if you're in the same situation as me, check out eBay. I ended up picking one up that is basically brand new for about $30! Plenty of them on there and since I heard that if you get it from the factory it's about $400, you'll save a ton of money!!

Still love the Charger and got a pretty good deal on it too, so I can't complain that much. But still, when you're paying that much for anything, you want it RIGHT.

I picked up my Daytona last night. Me sales person said the input is on the back side of the radio. So I would assume that means you need one of those remote adpater thingys.
