You did not mention if the AC clutch is engaging or not. If not, check the fuse under the hood, inside the black box by the battery. If that is OK, you can try swapping out the AC clutch relay with the horn relay (they are both inside that black box). Check those items and repost with your results. :gr_patrio

I was going to say the same thing :thumb up:

If it is engauging then I would check the psi on the low and high side with the engine running at 1200 rpm. Also note ambient temp (very important).
Let me know what you have and I'll tell you where to start.
If not then yes check the orfice tube they are the filter for debris in the system. All my A/c systems blow 32F or lower. So if your vent temp is any higher then 36*F there is a problem.
BTW common mistake is adding oil to the system. You do not need oil unless you replace a part or the system blew.
For instance my Durango brand new was 40*F out of the vents and I complained it would not be cold enough. The dealer told me that was enough :VHOT: . Again dealer failed me  . So I evacuated the system drained one ounce of oil out cause it was over charged with oil and recycled the freon back in. I later drove it up there and told him what I did. He did not believe me till the mechanic stuck his temp sensor in the vent and it read 29*F. I told him if he would like to have a real tech working for him just give me a call :thatfunny He did not like that!!! at all!

ok sorry to sound stupid, but i am not sure if it is engaging. it held a charge and blows cold for 1 second then stops. i dont know if there is a sound im am looking for. i checked the ac fuses, but they wernt under my hood. i lost the cover so i dont know if there are anything there, but all the fuses there are ok. and the ac fuses i checked were good too.

look at the A/C clutch when it is running. Have someone turn the AC on and listen for a click, and the out side hub on the compressor should start to spinn with the engine.

The fans will come on when the clutch is engaged.

I'm wondering if you have a big leak somewhere? Are you saying it blows cold for a second while your friend was charging it? Or any time you turn it on? If it's only when charging, then I think you have a big leak.
