Hey I need some advice about my stereo. I got a 2400 watt amp, and if I crank it up, you can hear my alternator really working. I dont have caps, and I was told to get a red top battery from one friend, and put in an after market alternatos from another. I dont know what to do. I dont wanna mess my warranty all up, but would if I need to. I appreciate some feed back. LATER!

get a power cap, and a 2nd battery for the trunk, run 4 gauge wire from the battery in the front to a battery in the back ( also ground it ) then use the battery in the back for subs, also if u got a dry cell that would help alot too. before i got n2o i had subs and i've blown up 1 alternater and fried 2 battery's and fried a 12 ft cable of 4 guage before finally taking the time to do everything the good way instead of fast... ( my battery is in the trunk though i relocated it to have more room under the hood!)

If the amp really puts out 2400 watts, run 1/0 wire. Upgrade your "big 3" (wire from alt to battery, wire from battery - to frame, and wire from battery - to engine block).
Upgrading the alt is the best solution, but usually the most expensive one.

ok. I was just lookin into price on a red top battery, and caps. the amp is putting out 2410 rms into 1 ohm. I checked out hifisoundconnection, and a few other places, and the stats show it puttin down the power.I was told by afew ppl to just put in a cap, and a red top battery. I dont know though
