I've had a wobble in my steering that comes and goes above 55-ish mph recently. Took it in to have it looked at and was told i have some play in my passenger side CV axle, which would explain the slight pull to the right when the wobble is present. (why the wobble comes and goes, that i dont know). I think i'll have the balance on the front wheel checked first, just to make sure. Any one have some suggestions on what i should do as far as CV's go? The drivers side was just replaced a little less than 2 years ago, but it was replaced with a used axle. Should i go used for the pass. side too? or go new? Should i replace both of them at the same time? Should i go with the Shadow CV swap or stick with stock? All opinions and suggestions appreciated, thanks.

As soon as u replace on the other generally goes in about a year from my experience.
Go new and replace both of em with factory originals.
And, to make sure they last a long time, regularly inspect the cv rubber boot. As its actually the boot cracking and letting in water and dirt that actually stuffs the cv joint to begin with. I spray my cv boots with tire shine spray! Its a low grade oil that keeps the rubber boots flexible and in good condition.

well, took my car in to have the front wheels checked over. Turns out one was out of balance by quite a bit. When i originally had the balanced the weight was put about 4 inches over from where it needed to be. So far the steering feels a lot better, I almost dare say it fixed the problem.......
When I changed my oil the other day i noticed one of my CV boots had a small tear in it. I have no idea how long it has been there, but it's quite small, no more than an inch at the longest. Can I just buy a new boot or is the joint itself probably ruined?
