Went in a store, came out car wouldn't start. Tried jumping it. No go, got some equipment battery tests as fully charged. When using the volt meter, the voltage seems to drop when turning the key to run. It then will slowly come back up. I have had trouble in past with speedo/odo not working. it is intermittent. Not sure if related or not. Just get some clicking when trying to start. OBDII keeps reseting when trying to pull codes. Haynes manual talks about rotating engine forward to access starter solenoid. Any help appreciated.

Is the engine turning over? If not, your starter is either shot/not engaging or the wiring to it is shorting out somewhere (or loose, bad connection.... that was my problem). If the engine is turning over, check for spark, and then check fuel pressure (should be 49psi @ rail for 95-99, 51psi @ rail for 00-05?). If both of those areas check out, do a compression test. Let us know what you find.

Battery wouldn't hold a load. replaced the battery and positive cable and it started right up.
