Have a 2003 Neon s/e as the daily driver. For the 2nd time in probably 2 months I got a Intermittent Cam pos sensor signal (p0344). First time I took it to Midas and they changed the sensor. Now 2 months later its back. The car runs fine though. No problems what so ever. Is this a common promlem for dodges? Is this tough to change myself? Any guesses to an underlying problem causing this to go bad?

I would start looking at the wiring, which means pulling back the wire loom and a good deal of exceptionally sticky tape...
the sensor itself is not hard to replace. It's right on the end of the head, 4 bolts andthe connector and it's off. The cam sensor is not a very high failure candidate. They do have a tendency to leak past the seal though, which often gets mistaken for a headgasket leak. When you have a spare afternoon, go ahead and pull it off, check the condition of the seal, and check inside the sensor where the cam sits for signs of scraping or other damage. My bet's still on wiring though...
Best of luck!
