18" or more ? must be a clearance thing...

I've searched for a while for a correct fitment for 18" wheels for my 2000 Ram Van, and I can't seem to find anything larger than 17 x 8" that any site will recommend

Must be a wheel / turning / brake clearance kinda problem ?? dunno ??

Anyone have 18" or larger wheels on a newer Ram Van ?

Question, and the purpose of doing this is? BLING with spinners or better mpg?

My B1500 has 5 lugs and is a smaller wheel rim and tire than my B2500. I would love to have put those flashy rims from the B1500 on my B2500, but they don't fit. :(

Just make sure the new wheels are not heavier than your stockers.
Some of those out there weigh a ton......especially the larger sizes.
I like the 15" wheels that were on my Magnum when I got it. They are Panasports that are a super light road racing wheel. They weigh less than the tires that are on them.

At some point like '02 or '03 16" wheels became standard on all B-vans, not just the B3500 vans. The problem is the front wheel well...you can't go too big or the tires will rub. I have 255/60R15's on my van and that's about as wide as I can go..especially the front. The rear I could go much wider.

I got 17 x 9 Stock 1500 Chrome Clad Truck Wheels with 255-55 tire on a lowered b250 no problem but had to re-drill the center hole. A slight rub on the sway bar and strut rod, but not much. I could use a tire on back 3" wider but the front is maxed out without fender lip trimming and more offset. 18s should be no problem on stock hight van. 255-50-18 would be 28" Tall.

I think it would look nice to have some 315s on the back.

As far as were to buy wheels that a good one. I like American tire they have good prices and and are not morons. I used them for my tires but bought my wheels from some used factory wheel co in Utah cheep. Dealers are ripping then off new trucks every day and don't know what to do with them. Remember newer dodge trucks have flush hubs old stick out so caps wont fit.

I wouldn't worry about the weight of the wheel as much as the wheel carrying capacity and tire capacity to. Also I have 245/60's up front to prevent rubbing when making a tight turn.
