Well I got my truck running again yesterday, loose clamp at the gas tank and the brand new float was sticking. Anyway got it running, and messed with it some more, hooked up the choke. When I revved it up, it would go to 3500 and stop like it hit a brick wall, sounded like it was hitting a rev limiter, which obviously it doesn't have. Sounds like it's skipping when it hits that point. Today I had it running some more, it will go past 3500 but it's still skipping when it hits it. I have the vacuum advance unplugged, because it's bad. Would this cause it? Or does it sound like weak points or condenser? (Yes I still have points:D)

Well that would be the first place I would start. If the timing isn't advancing properly the engine is gonna fall flat on it's face.

...and get rid of them dadgum points! :)
