ok i didnt know where else to go lol so i figured id ask u fella's, my g/f has a 98 cavy and the tranny has been freshly rebuilt with a lsd and new speedo gear... the speedo is a magnetic speedo and well she has indiglo/white faced gauges... and the speedo wouldnt work so we got the speedo gear replaced and it still didnt work so we got a new speedo sensor and it still dont work... well it work @70mph but it says ur goin 45@70 and @-45 it says ur goin 0 u guys got ne clue wats wrong...?

Yep.. When you put the facing on the gauges you had to take off the needle to the speedo and when you put it back on it was in a different position. What you need to do is scan it to read mph and reset the needle in posistion. Or you can turn the key on with the gauges pluged in and reset the needle at 0.

If that is not the problem then you need to take a look at your input shaft sensor in the trans.
Any codes? Is your abs light on?

The Alt belt can also cause guage malfuntions. Well atleast on a Neon it doe's,,,,,That was the first problem I ever had with my car. I didn't get it fixed till I replaced the belt. Like you I got a sensor and all and for nothing all it needed was a belt!!!!!

i dont think its ne belts, and the tranny is like brand new im talking everything replaced except for the casign lol and it has an lsd!!!! only the phantom grip but who cares lol... i'll try the key and taking the needle of first.

The needles should be keyed, shouldnt they? As in they only go on one way???? maybe not though.... pull 'em again and find out, LOL.

After reading again a question pops up
Does the speedo jump to 45mph when you get to 70 or does it stedily go up with speed, and you took notice at 70mph. How do you know your going 70? :huh:

lol estimated guess of 70mph from the tach being @ certain rpms, ok once u hit 70ish the speedo then starts to go up to 45 from 0 as in ur goin u get to 70 then all of a sudden it goes up to 45 not like a instant flash but it goes up right to 45 @ steady 70ish mph.
